Solenoid valves - compact control for medical applications

RAPA - Solenoid valve expertise since 1966

A solenoid valve is an electrically controlled valve that regulates the flow of liquids, gases or other media in medical devices. At its core, it consists of a coil (solenoid) that generates a magnetic field when switched on and thereby moves a piston or diaphragm - this opens or closes the flow. The switching of a solenoid valve is caused by the movement of the armature. If the armature is mechanically coupled directly to the sealing element (disc, seal or diaphragm), it is a directly controlled valve.
This principle can be implemented in different valve variants using our modular system, e.g. as a 2/2-way valve (NC = normally open / normally closed, NO = normally closed / normally open) or as a 3/2-way valve (also NC or NO).

In medical applications, solenoid valves are primarily used where the precise, safe and repeatable flow of liquids or gases is required.

Typical applications include ventilators, infusion systems, dialysis equipment, laboratory technology, blood pressure measurement systems and the control of gases in medical devices. Solenoid valves are also used to control fluid flows in medical diagnostic and treatment facilities, such as in anesthesia, surgery and intensive care medicine.

Thanks to their compact design, solenoid valves can even be integrated into space-critical applications and are therefore particularly suitable for the development of integrated system solutions in medical devices and patient care equipment.

RAPA has been developing and producing high-quality solenoid valves for the medical and healthcare sector since 1966.
All products are tested end-of-the-line and are characterized by their extreme robustness, durability, precise switching times and high repeat accuracy.

RAPA always offers customized solutions - from individual valves to intelligent system applications. The entire development process is covered: from the concept phase through to series production.

With decades of experience, state-of-the-art production and a deep understanding of the specific requirements of medical technology, RAPA stands for quality, precision and technical reliability - Made in Germany.
